PD Session Two ~ Wonder ~ In what ways can I connect my curriculum to student learning plans to personalize the learning for my students in my content area? How can I construct my curriculum to ensure my lessons are student-centered? You will first need to think about various career paths your students may choose to take and ensure that you are letting students direct their own learning. You will then start to take notes and use digital-maps, highlighted below, as you think of various ways to connect your content area with different career pathways and ensure that students are able to direct their own learning. The TECHNOLOGY TOOLS below can be used for BOTH the second and fourth stages of the inquiry process:
Mind Mapping is a visual way to organize your thoughts and ideas. Start with your main idea, or a specific career that a student may want to pursue, in the middle. Then add pertinent thoughts and ideas, from the answers to your questions, about how you can connect your content area to student PLP's, by creating branches that extend out from the main idea. Next, repeat the process, by adding more thoughts and ideas and extend them out from each of your sub-topics . Continue the process, until you feel you have enough information and that you can now make your own predictions to begin your unit.

- Use the Occupational Outlook Handbook and My Next Move to search for and identify career areas to start 'wondering" how you will connect your content to a students personalized learning plan.
- Review the information that the Rutland Region Workforce Investment Board has to offer: "Volunteers linking many Rutland County business and education communities to bridge the gap between the workforce of today and the one we need for the future. Partners working to strengthen our economy by fostering relationships among employers, educators and service providers to enable people to get the skills they need to find productive and rewarding work."

- Read pages 97 -185 in "Curriculum 21" by Jacobs Post two of your own questions to the discussion board here and reply to two of your colleagues on the board.

- This is a great online tool for note-taking. It will help you to organize, revise, and strategize your research writing process.
- Notability: With this note-taking tool, you have the choice of taking notes directly on documents or creating voice recorded notes.
- Google Chrome Note-taking extension
- Padlet is a software (tech tool), both students and teachers can use to post and share information. Students can use Padlet as a digital curation tool, for fantastic visual presentations, as a blog, to take notes, book reviews, etc... Teachers can use Padlet as a tech tool for formative assessments, exit cards, curriculum planning/lessons, professional development, crowdsourcing, a visual syllabus, discussion threads, blogs, tutorials, digital curation...the possibilities are endless!

- This Venn Diagram tool is a mind map that you can use to organize your thoughts visually and help you think critically about the information for your project. It will enable you to make connections, which are important as you develop your ideas and then eventually synthesize your information.
